Tell us about Toasty, and its sustainable efforts
Toasty is a premium hot water bottle company based in New York City. We strive to provide a high-quality hot water bottle that delivers 4-6 hours of high-temperature heat to keep you warm, whether at home or on the go.
After a winter trip to South Africa where we used these bottles to keep us warm in open Jeeps and after a cold winter of outdoor dining in NYC during a pandemic, we realized we wanted to bring a premium version of these hot water bottles to others - to share the warmth, if you will.
And because we love our planet and want to make sure we do our part to protect its resources, we have built a company that prioritizes sustainability. Our plastic bottles are recyclable, our covers are sourced and manufactured locally and all items are shipped in Tishwish compostable packaging.
We also believe it's important to give back to our community. With the hard hit on the service industry over the last few years, we are donating 10% of sales to the James Beard Foundation's Open for Good campaign. More info can be found here: https://www.jamesbeard.
What other steps are you taking to make sure that they company is continuously working towards sustainable living?
To make our company sustainable, our plastic bottles are recyclable, our covers are sourced and manufactured locally and all items are shipped in Tishwish compostable packaging. The one piece of the puzzle that we are still trying to figure out is how to also get the plastic part of the bottle manufactured locally as well, but it's difficult to find manufacturers of plastic bottles in this region. We are working on it!
